Armored core is a long series, it’s being going for a long, long time. But people often think that it’s pretty much just a “re-print” of the previous game, glossed and varnished then slammed back onto the market.
Well no matter how you feel about it, you’re going to be blown away by the multiplayer.
Providing it works anyway, it’s a brilliant concept.
Fully customizable characters online! None of this bloody “Oh I see you have a cool single player character, tough luck!” lark. All maps with have a variety of modes (Yeah, we should hope so, that’s basically saying games play on maps.
Squad leader gameplay – the game is encouraging people to use voice chat to give objectives out and orders, so only one person will see certain things, this may seem like a good idea on paper, but what happens when you give one person the lead? They mess it up, or purposely make people get lost, maybe it will work, what do you think? One thing is for sure, I won’t be able to shout “KILL THAT NOW!” at my team, and they won’t be able to respond by shooting me.
Now this is where the gold is, “World mode” this mode basically lets you take over the world, and dominate it against other players.(Quick note: Region – Big, Territory –Small bit in the region. This gets a tad confusing) The game has eight main regions, and over 10,000 territories (sweet shit on a nutsack!) Each territory will show the emblem of the team that controls it. To control a region you either have to have the most important territories in that region, or the most altogether.
I’m not 100% on how the team thing will work, it would be great if you can make your own team, and emblem and literally take on the world with just your friends, imagine the bragging rights!
Now, to take over a territory you have to take it’s endurance value to zero. Once you have done this, you can begin a conquest mission, the team that currently hold the territory must defend, and obviously the person who is trying to invade attacks.
Here’s what we have on defending a territory: Each territory can have hired help, automatic defences, so while you’re snoozing in your warm bed, giant robots and turrets can blow each other up. Each time you lose a battle, or the AI defences lose a battle, the endurance goes down a little, which eventually leaves you open to conquest. You will unlock more weaponry to use and better tactics as you progress.
Namco, From Software, pull this off and you will make one of the best online games to date!
