As a Metal Gear Solid fan, I have something to say. I’ve been keeping it inside of me for months, and it’s starting to explode.
I sometimes stare at the game poster for a large amount of time, wondering when I’m finally going to get my hands on the game. I always knew that one day, I was going to explode about this. Now it’s time. So to fans of video games, can I ask you something?
Where in the world is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance?
I honestly feel like we’ve been waiting too long. We’ve been aware for the last couple of years that Hideo Kojima was creating a spinoff to his successful Metal Gear Solid franchise, featuring Raiden, the second main character of the series.
I instantly knew this was going to happen. Before “Guns of the Patriots” was released, I thought to myself “Kojima is going to create a spinoff game featuring Raiden.”
Kojima loves this character. There are times when I wonder if he loves Raiden more than Snake. So once the announcement came years ago that this spinoff was going into production, we were ecstatic.
The spinoff is set to take place nine years after “Guns of the Patriots.” Raiden is contracted by PMCs for multiple tasks such training of armies and VIP Protection in an unknown country that is recovering from a previous civil war. However, Raiden is set to encounter an army of cyborg enemies. I call it a mixture of crime and science fiction, which is always a wonderful combination.
It’s been years since the announcements and previews. The release dates were postponed over and over again. Now we hear that it’s not coming out until early 2013.
As much as I support Konami for their hard work in putting this upcoming masterpiece together, I’m growing very impatient. I want Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance in my hands soon.
Get on it Kojima!
