The Most Ambitious Legit Minecraft Project Yet?

The Most Ambitious Legit Minecraft Project Yet?

The first thing to take note of, is that these guys are doing it all without world edit. Which makes the project stand above most of the other projects already.

While I was stood waiting for the Eurogamer Expo to open the mighty gates, I met two young chaps who seemed really excited about a minecraft project they were working on, so we got talking and they have taken the time to show me around it all and explain what they’re doing.

Basically, they’re working on a big, big city. But what separates this from other projects is the sheer amount of detail, the scale and the dedication rather than focusing on just the outside of the structures, they’re going to be covering the inside too. This will involve fully working electronics and a power grid through red stone.

On top of this, each structure is going to serve a purpose, none of them are just there for show. All of the structures are linked via an underground network which leads to a centre control point allowing you to flick on lights, for buildings blocks and roads. They are also still batting the idea around for other features, and promise us that they will be amazing. Such as shutting down banks and vaults, powering down train lines and more.

So the whole idea is that they want to build this city, it’s grown up from a single “Megastation” that’s has a lobby and fully working lights etc. It was a huge area, but they knew they could do more. Now they’re expanding rapidly and want this city to just keep growing, there’s no real goal other than bloody big.

Can we get involved?

The guys are currently working on letting people join forces with them, because the project is so big they will probably need all the help they can get. What would be interesting, is once the map is completed if someone used it for a mod outline, imagine the zombie game you could play on that…

They’re keeping people updated via youtube, a dedicated website and facebook.
