This is a mini review; by that I mean that the game I am writing about was rented, not bought. So some may argue that the score is unfair or unjust. However, this review will give the reader a feel of what the game entails.

Dark sector is possibly the worst third person shooter I’ve ever played, the game has no tutorial, dull atmosphere and all around irritating game play.

Now I understand that when someone holds a gun they’re likely to move around slightly, as they breathe. But, the amount of cross hair drifting with something as small and simple as a pistol is unreal. I don’t mean this game is unrealistic, I mean it’s stupid.

The graphics are pretty decent considering how old it is, but the amount of dark rooms and hard to see scenery renders almost all of it useless. The lack of tutorial means that anyone who rents this, or buys it pre owned with no instruction booklet, will have to constantly go through the option menu to bring up the controller layout, just to find out that you can sprint. But not go into cover, though the enemy can. And before you send me a message about how you can go into cover or something, I don’t care, they should of said so in the tutorial, and they left it out!

The last point of this is the voice acting, there is only one game with worse voice acting, and that’s Rapala fishing frenzy 2009. And trust me, being better than that isn’t hard.

I’m giving Dark Sector a 3/10. Dull game play, annoying unconvincing voice acting, and lack of simple game mechanics.
