Legendary Pictures Finds Director for Warcraft Movie

February 1, 2013 |  by  |  News

Well, this is a shorty, but a goodie. Legendary Pictures, the production company working on the much belated World of Warcraft film, has found a new director for their project: Duncan Jones!

You know… Duncan Jones… he did “Source Code.” He also did “Moon,” that really big indie hit. Anyway, he’s partnered with Stuart Fenegan, who will be executive producer while Chris Metzen (A Blizzard Scriptwriter) is set to co-produce. They plan to start filming during fall of this year, with a release set for 2015. The budget for the movie is currently sitting at $100 million, which is just a shade less than Blizzard makes every minute from subscription fees.

All other details on the film is being kept under wraps – what the plot will be, who the antagonist will be, who the heroes are, how the war will be represented, is all up for speculation. Still, with only two years to wait (assuming they finish the project), it won’t be too long until we find out!
