Left 4 Dead 2 Free this Weekend

October 26, 2012 |  by  |  News

So, starting today and going until next Monday (October 29th), Left 4 Dead 2, Valve’s four-person co-op FPS zombie apocalypse simulator will be absolutely free to download and play in celebration of Halloween. A good opportunity for you to get your friends who suck at FPS games on so you can mercilessly slaughter them in a VS game and laugh at their stupid frustrated faces. Also, I apparently have social issues.

…anyway, there are reasons to play this weekend even if you’ve already bought the game. Valve has introduced a special opportunity to get a once-in-a-lifetime achievement called “Good Guy Nick”, that can only be acquired if a paying player helps a new free player survive a campaign. How will you know if you’re playing with a free player or not? “You’re going to have to talk to each other to find out or you could always let your friends know Left 4 Dead 2 is going to be free this weekend and have them join you”, Valve says.

Manipulative bastards.

Anyway, a nice little seasonal event, if I do say so, but it won’t give you any candy so it’s not perfect.
