The amount of innuendos lately is kind of crazy. But we’re all adults here – right?…Those poor developers…
A quick background on “Lady Shotgun” it’s a “virtual” studio that was knocked up last year, housing former developer veterans Anna Marsh and Sarah van Rompaey, they’ve worked on a few tomb raider games.
They tell us that the game was inspired by the DS game “Elite Beat Agents” which they call a hit. Well, our readers like blood, boobs and beer. But we do love our indie developers.
The game was also partially inspired by cheesey martial art films from the 1970s-80s, so I’m expecting some humour. The game is one of those crafty addictive iOS games that we all fear.
The game lands somewhere between casual and dedicated by mixing up twitch reflexes and the classic beat ‘em up fun we adore. But more interestingly the development team did this in their spare time, they say this is why the work force is around a 6:10 female to male ratio, I thought it might have something to do with “Lady shotgun” being the name of the company. And really the guys that work there must have big bushy beards and axes.
“Our working style is completely different to the large studios we came from, but we’re extremely happy to have proved that this way of working is eminently do-able! We’re looking forward to working on future projects in the same way, potentially much larger and more ambitious games” says Anna Marsh.
Okay so I’m going to avoid the obvious “Catch phrase” I want here and just say you can pick it up for iOS right now for 69P (Hur hur.) or $0.99, and other mobile platforms soon.
