Over the years, the adventure genre has diminished and been forgotten about almost entirely. That was, until such studios as Double Fine & Telltale Games ignited the spark back in to it with their respective titles,Stacking & Sam & Max which has paved the way for the adventure game genre to return to it’s former glory and be recognised once again.
Now,legendary (in the eyes of us old enough to remember) writer and creator of Gabriel Knight,Gray Matter and Phantasmagoria has stepped out from the shadows to unveil a mysterious ”surprise” announced on her Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/janejensenhomes
Now the concern from followers at first was that Jane Jenson posted this reveal on April 1ST which had fans more than a little suspicious that the mysterious project was simply a joke. That was until this was posted: http://pinkertonroad.com/
Now depending on when you read this piece, the the countdown may or may not still be there, but for those curious anyway, the site basically is showing a countdown to something that is going to be revealed. With the news of Double Fine doing a kickstarter recently, could this be Jane Jenson beginning to set up her own? Possibly to fund a new studio so she can creative rein over her much beloved franchises Gabriel Knight and Gray Matter?
Only time will tell, quite literally in this case as to what on Earth Jenson has planned. It’s a exciting time to be a adventure game fan though.
