Ghost Recon Future Solider The Perfect Blend

Ghost Recon Future Solider The Perfect Blend

Ghost Recon has always had me in two minds, it’s always taken far too much thought for me, so I usually got frustrated and shouted at it around the second mission.

However, this one? This one is almost perfect. It really pulled the series together for me. Ubisoft have found a unique blend of action and tactics. But the greatest thing, is that you usually don’t even have to do it in that way, there are missions that you do have to do either stealth or run and gun, but they don’t usually last long, and they’re never right after each other, so it breaks it down a bit.

The single player has 4 player co op online, but only single player offline. This was a little bit of an upsetting situation at first, but you don’t really need other players. Obviously it makes it more fun, but the game is really enjoyable with just the AI lot.

AI has pretty much always annoyed me in games, it almost always feels broken and they run into walls etc, however Ubisoft made the AI work really well, obviously it’s not perfect, but they cover you well and do what you tell them to.

The in game dialogue between the squad can be quite poor, at one point I was being shot at from every angle, so I fired back and hear “Well that got their attention”. Cocky swine! But obviously, this isn’t really something I’m going to cry over. I just laughed about it.

The single player explains how to use everything, such as flash bangs, EMPs and robots. Your squad mates will advise you on what weapons to take. And provided you listen, you won’t be running around trying to snipe with a pistol and shotgun.

Graphically it’s a bit weird at first, it just felt a little off but it really starts to tie in with the atmosphere, it’s a very weird thing they have going on. And I honestly can’t explain it very well. It just felt right!

My favourite part of the game was probably running in with a big-ass machine gun shouting “Come at me bro’!” to hear a squad mate say “Do something? Son, we’re not even here.” As I fired hundreds of bullets into a wall

The amount of different ways you can do a level is brilliant. The game has a linear approach but because the areas are so open, you can tackle it in different ways. There are also challenges that unlock different things for guns. Such as not being spotted, getting 6 kills in a few seconds with a machine gun, and so many more.

The gun customization is almost endless, it doesn’t have the humour that army of two had (You guys remember how great the customization was in that right) but it does let you change more, everything from the trigger to the barrel, which is split into something like 3 parts?

You can smack people in the face too, and curb stomp them, which is just lovely. The ghosts actually feel how they should, bad arse, powerful and smart. You actually see yourself thinking tactfully without even realising it.

This game is an action packed, adrenaline rushed, master piece of a game, and it’s also a perfect tactic shooter, paced and fun. It’s everything and anything a shooter fan wants. It is almost perfection.
