Gateways 2D Portal Hits Xbox

September 14, 2012 |  by  |  News

So there’s this game, and it’s kind of like Portal, but not really much like portal.

Smudged Cat Games have made something that sounds pretty interesting, basically it’s a platformer game where you can use portals to jump through walls and twist gravity. The game was previously only available via their website. But is now on Xblig, Steam and Desura.

The move has also given the developers chance to reshuffle the maps, add new puzzles and swap power ups around. The game sees a young inventor called Ed (Actually he’s pretty old.) escaping a lab, where his experiments have broken out. The game has old school platforming challenges, spikes etc but with the added “Gateway gun”…Things change.

Eventually, you can get a gun that creates two portals – I mean gateways. These are different sizes, and passing through them can either shrink Ed or make him grow! As you plod through you’ll unlock other guns that let you travel through time, which is pretty nifty.
