Even though I am happy that there are new video games coming out by the end of this year and the beginning of 2013, I don’t feel the same for the consoles. I’ve fallen under that category of a few video game fans that are waiting for the next level of entertainment to come out.
It has been in the news that video game sales are incredibly slow. Most people are insinuating that it’s because people are tired of playing video games. In some cases, that’s true. When we grow up some of us are tired of living the fantasy of video games through the television screen, and prefer to stay in reality for the rest of their lives.
Then there’s another side of me that doesn’t believe this theory. In my opinion, I’m not tired of playing video games. I’m always excited over new games that are coming out. But I have reached a moment where I’m tired of playing it on the same console.
I remember looking at Xbox 360 when a friend of mine was playing “Dance Revolution.” The game was good, but the console was getting on my last good nerve. I knew the insides and outs of the controller along with the traditional procedure of turning a game on and off.
I wanted the Xbox and the Playstation 3 to turn into the Playstation 2. I want them to become that every now and then console. The type of game that you will come back to just to reminisce about how much time you’ve spent when it had its time in the game industry.
I know I’m not the only fan that believes this should happen soon. The majority of us are tired of playing the same console. So I don’t know what they’re doing, but they better have a new console in the works right now. Or else someone from the game company is going to receive multiple angry phone calls from die-hard fan.
