Does anyone remember these? The old fighting fantasy books? Anyway, it’s been 30 years since they first published one! Anyway, the new title “Blood of the Zombies” is being turned into a game, with fancy 3D dice! I have a feeling this game is going to mix simplistic gameplay with great story telling.
It’s kind of like an e-book for fighting fantasy, you still get the whole book, but now the dice, adventure sheet and items are saved into a nifty handy place. The book, game, mix, comes from Tinman games who have worked on various small iOS titles.
Neil Rennison, Creative Director for Tin Man Games, said: “Being huge Fighting Fantasy fans, it was important that we captured the nostalgic feeling of the series whilst also adding modern gaming components. The illustrations are now in full colour, and we’ve created an appropriately gruesome-looking book interface. We’ve animated the amazing front cover, bringing the main Zombie alive for the main menu! We also commissioned a soundtrack and sound effects to create added atmosphere to accompany Ian’s exciting interactive story.”
The game has a few features and things that are not found in the paper back version of the book. Apparently due to “Limitations” in the book format.
You can download it for just $6, here.
