The Zombiesarurus DLC for A World of Keflings landed on my lap recently, with a great deal of joy I slapped in the DLC code and got playing, it comes shortly after the previous DLC was launched, Sugar Spice and Not So Nice. The great things about these DLC pieces is that they’re cheap but very cost effective, they last a good while. Obviously not for ages, but longer than you would think for the price!
So the DLC opens in a simple way, someone has nabbed the princess and it’s up to you to save her. You can’t walk over and beat him up because it’s a giant zombie, lizard, dinosaur thing. You have to get more fire power, and to discover the fire power you have to build up various buildings. Uncovering blueprints along the way.
The buildings start simple as always but grow into oversized, huge structures that take a lot of time to construct, but it plays at a steady pace and never feels like a pointless struggle. Each building made gives a nice rewarding feel after it.
The zombie angle was a nice one to play, they had a vote but pirates lost to zombies. Personally, I prefer pirates, but they worked the zombies in really well and they had some great dialogue and banter with the rest of the characters, quite shocking for a zombie really. Seriously they didn’t make them say much other than “Brains” but they made it work.
The one flaw the game had was this one quest where you had to chase a teleporting eye ball, I spent a good 30 minutes trying to find it, once I found it for the first time it wasn’t too hard, just the original spawn was a pain. But aside from that the DLC was amazing! It even had a twist, which shocked me quite a bit.
The DLC hits Xbox Live today, Wednesday 17th October for just 320 Microsoft Points.
