Rovio quietly released a special Bad Piggies-themed update today for the original Angry Birds, bringing the game’s version up to 2.3.0. The update is currently only available for Android Operating System. Bad Piggies have invaded Angry Birds in a new episode appropriately titled, “Bad Piggies,” introducing 15 new levels based on the spinoff game of the same name. Also included in the update are the final 15 levels of Surf and Turf, originally exclusive to the Angry Birds Friends Facebook app.
But perhaps bigger news is the Star Wars Angry Birds game, launching on November 8th. Those who were at Times Square during the announcement got a free limited edition Star Wars Angry Birds poster. John Williams’ score has been reworked for the game, giving it what we imagine can only be a very, very interesting musical score.
The picture release shows that we will be fighting Darth Vader obviously, as a pig, and we will assume control over various characters from the film series. Though we can’t see any sign of Yoda…
The game will be set on our favourite planets from Star Wars, though we don’t know which ones yet people assume Hoth will have a part in the game, which makes sense, because it’s a very popular and well known planet in Star Wars.
“This is the best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done. It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in in a galaxy far, far away. As a big Star Wars fan myself, I’m really excited about this new universe.” said Rovio chief marketing officer Peter Vesterbacka.
We have also been told that the game will see merchandise, including plushes, action figures and Halloween costumes…
